i've used the AEM UEGO, zeitronix ZT-2, Innovate MTX-L and Innovate LM2 without any problems on ESL cars so you do get a bit of personal preference in it. The ZT-2/LM2 are handy as you can data log RPM/throttle/boost from those too independent of the what the ECU is telling you but if you just need a straight up gauge/logger then the new MTX-L or the new UEGO will probably be the handiest. Just remember not to leave it installed when your testing your antilag/launch settings if you have motorsport pack as you'll likely kill the sensor in short order.

no - fit it for mapping the car then remove it when mapping is finished. For a full time install though you could switch the 5v/1v input from the wideband and then switch closed loop back on when your done playing with the wideband readings.

Why do you suggest removing the wideband after mapping ?

only because I take the sensor with me to the next car plus if/when they die it's very expensive to replace vs another standard sensor.

sorry to bump an old thread, but to use a wideband full time for logging, and standard, do I need to wire the sensor to the OEM sensor loom?

edit: switching from 5v to 1v is through the software?

I think it depends on what type of sensor you have and the controller.

What i know is, for the aem xseries uego, you have to ideally ground the sensor to an ecu ground aswell as attach the wideband signal output to the input of the narrowband to the ecu.

For me this was easier done by hooking the wire uo near the ecu as opposed to in the enginebay on the loom for the stock narrowband. I hooe this is clear.

I know that the aem xseries uego dosent have the option to switch to narrowband simulation. So becareful on the model you purchase and make sure it has the stimulation.

If you need any other help feel free to bump up.

(This thread will be back alive once i get a new wideband sensor and some det cans)

Thank you for the quick reply. Do you know if the regular UEGO wideband sensor can stimulate 5/1v?

unrelated note: How fragile are sensors with heat? My sensor bung 1-2in behind the turbo.

yes what you can do is hook both the 5v and the 1v input on a switch to the ECU's OEM o2 sensor input, that way you can flick the switch and enable closed loop when your not tuning.

as for the sensor being close to the turbo, they can last OK depending on driving style but you may be better moving it further away from the turbo or using the innovate o2 sensor heatsink (HBX-1) to reduce the stress on the sensor from heat.

My UEGO X lasted 1 week

I had it installed permanently

Plan to purchase a new sensor its the BOSCH LSU 4.9

What would you recommend to try help this sensor last a little longer ?

Its located about 2/3 ft from turbo

I may have used the Launch Control last time which i guess wont help it

Dont allow the sensor to run while the engine is off, this causes the sensor to heat up and when the cold engine exhaust hits it can cause it to crack.

Install on a 45 degree angle as explained in the instructions. Try to get the fancy heatsink adapters but at 20 quid not sure its worth it. Rather just install it further down.
