Default hesitant acceleration under light throttle

hi all does anyone have a clue what's happening to my v3 impreza import I have read the threads of the boost solenoid and done the cleaning bit on connecting the green connectors under the steering column I have a ticking sound coming out under light throttle up to about 1500 revs when I have that I get a hesitant acceleration and low boost ,when I get no ticking sound the boost works fine and it seems to be getting worst not better , had a look for split boost pipes but seem at a loss because when its all working fine its like a rocket can anyone point me in the right direction what to look for or is it a case that the boost solenoid is faulty by not staying closed when on boost any help would be appreciated thanks

the ticking sound is usually the boost solenoid being screwed into the bodywork without the little rubber grommets. Your hearing the valve opening/closing at speed.

If it's giving you wonky boost easiest thing to do is replace it - they don't cost mad money.

thanks for the reply but the problem is at very low speed not even enough to start getting any boost and has got so bad that even pulling off was sometimes hit and miss but then after some popping sound it suddenly clears then no problem like a rocket listened for the ticking but was not there its a strange one

Default fuel pressure reg

hi all fitted a new walbro fuel pump top try to eliminate my hesitation fault as it seems like fuel starvation but now seems after fitting new pump car is hard to start and when started sounds like running rich until it clears , never had starting problem before new pump would there possibly be a fuel pressure regulator problem now with the extra fuel pressure from new pump, thanks

I had some recent hesitation issues on my 06 Hawkeye thought possibly lamdba sensor but turned out 2 of my spark plugs were shot.

The power was stuttering for me.....

Might be worth a looksie?

The "ticking sound" you are describing could possibly be pre-ignition and the result of a fuelling issue / Sensor issue affecting fuelling?
