Default Mapping in a 3 port bcs advice

Hi
I'm getting to the the stage in the tune where the standard 2 port bcs is not really up to the job, needing better boost control I've decided I'm going to fit the pitburg 3 port bcs I've had for a while.
I know that I have to lower the WGDC so will start by reducing by 50% across the board as a starting point.
Question is,do I also need to make adjustments to the turbo dynamics?
Any tips on this appreciated!
Car is a V3sti running a sc42 twin scroll and ESL
Cheers
Rich

in most cases you can get away with the values you already have for turbo dynamics, but wastegate min/max duty will need reduced by probably 30-40%. You have a good start at 50% reduction so try that and see how the boost plot looks - then begin to increase WGDC until you start hitting target boost in 4th. Best results seem to come if you keep the min duty around 10% smaller than your max duty.

Do a 1/2 run in 5th (5 speed yeh?) to see whats the absolute earliest you can spool the turbo, use that to setup the first two rows of your wastegate duty table. So say you can hit 1 bar at 3500 in 5th. So set your table up so 3400rpm is 90% duty and 3500rpm is say 60% duty to get you on target.

The high duty at lower RPM will help get the turbo spinning a little quicker but make sure to test all the gears at low RPM to prevent surging.

Thanks bludgod. I took some inspiration from the WG tables you set for me on my old RA and the new car picks up real nice(was terrible when I 1st got it) Cars has a 6 speed Jdm conversion and running a big turbo(sc42) with fmic so not expecting to hit 1bar at 3k.
I'm still struggling to hit 1 bar until around 4500 rpm but picks up very well after this and have now sorted the overboost. Just thinking the 3 port will do it the world of good and maybe help me hit targets a little earlier.

yup yup - so if you take the tables I sent you before it will be the same idea but just adjust/shift the RPM points a little.

You'd be surprised though if you try a run in 6th you might see that boost coming in sooner than you expect. Though that is a pretty big turbo to spin, even with the twinscrollness you'll not have much to talk about until 4000/4500 or so. Anything under that at full throttle and you can keep the duty maxed out.

Yeh once I've hit 1bar the beast of a turbo gets up to my target(1.6bar) before I can say party
It is a nice set up so I can't grumble.
I will get back on it next time I'm off work and see how the 3 port performs

Can you suggest some software for boost plotting? Don't mind paying for some good logging stuff,I'm currently using delta dash demo which is pretty good but would be nice to have some pro software.

i use the epifan ECUEdit software for editing/logging/graphing/plotting/averages/3d display/charts and a few other fun things. The full suite is really very inclusive, but seeing as it's just for logging/charting purposes the logViewer version is probably a better fit for you:

for 25 dollars it's worth a punt - there are a few older versions of it knocking around "out there" so you might find it if you look!
