Default Prodrive ecu code 97

Anybody have a 97 uk2000 prodrive ecu..?
It's plug and play?. Or need code the keys?.
I don't find any picture of label

The car have actually a jecs ecu 9s with 3 connectors

Hi mate you need the ecu coded to your keys. Or you can buy one with the chip out of the keys , if you find one forsale ask if seller has the chip out of keys I believe this will allow the new ecu to work without it needing to be recoded.

I think it will be hard to find one for sale

Just checked 2 on eBay. I have one on my car I will be selling soon but won't be selling with key chip.

Are you sure the original ecu is 9s as it should be 8s.

I think euro models have 9s ecu and uk models have 8s basically same ecu.

yup 9s is the euro 8s. identical except for the case, as for coding keys ive swapped and changed my 8s for 75, 6s, 1s and another 8s with no coding at all. the 75.6s.1s did need fuel pin and cam crank pins swapping tho.

Ok i stand corrected on my question over 9s and 8s but if changing a uk 8s then it does have to be coded.

I've tried 2 prodrive ecu's on mine one didn't work needed coding. 2nd worked and no coding needed. It may be that subaru only made a few different codes. So some ecu's pair up others don't.

It will allow the new ecu to perform without doing the re coding session again.
