Default Heater In and Out Pipes

Hi, I've got a 93 WRX Import and with the winter coming up I'm looking at getting the heater sorted. On inspection there are no pipes going into the heater matrix from the engine, just a bit of pipe looped on the two outlets on the bulkhead and what appears to be a pipe looped on itself on the engine block.

I've got no AC unit, not sure if this make a difference but is it a case of connecting up the ins and outs and it will work? Has anyone got any images of the pipes used and which is in and which is out just so I don't get it horribly wrong by mistake? Also can I use any pipe or do they need to be shaped ones?

That's been done for a reason boss. Would say the heater matrix is leaking.

Ahh ok, is there an easy way to test it or is it a case of taking the dash apart and getting the matrix out then flushing water through?

Hose pipe on the pipe that goes through the bulkhead and a blank on the other one. Turn the water on and wait. See does the interior floor get wet. Don't rush it leave it on for a good while. Its a bit of a pig of a job to change the matrix.
