Hi All,


I bought a 3dr STI V4 Type R.


Its ran perfect for 500miles and now the Check engine light has appeared.


I washed the engine bay on Monday and parked it in my garage, took it out tonight and the CEL is on.


NO boost either.


Ive checked for vacuum hose issues and checked the MAF connector.


The code in flashes from ignition been on is

Supposed to be going on a drive with friends tomorrow and now worried.

 

Looks like code 22 to me, knock sensor according to this:

Might be worth seeing if it's got water in the connector.

 

Also check the location of the knock sernsor as that could filled with crap from the wash . Needs drying up

 

Looks like it was water in a sensor, took it easy down the road and after about 1 mile the light went off, came on when sitting on a hill and now its off all together, done about 20 miles on and off boost and she's fine.

Lesson learnt.

It's got a forged engine which was forged at 40k and the car only has 43k on it. It's like the day it came out of the facotory minus the 18" gold revoloutions, big turbo,injectors,fmic, stainless headers, map etc
