Default ESL maffless help

Been running my v4 sti on esl in maf based load for a while now, had a pretty good tune, but the maf has finally died,
im now going to switch to mafless(should of from the start!)
before i start tuning again i have a couple of queries:
are people using the maf scale to get the load back to simular values as when running maf based load? if so anyone care to share the correct maf scale?
or
are you simply adjusting the load axis values?

all help apreciated
Sean

from their documentation:
To switch between MAP and MAF based load, open “MAFless Only” on the ECU Tree
and switch MAFless Enable from 0 to 1. Ensure the engine is off when you make the
switch! When mapping MAFless, switch the fuel map values to raw, as there will be
an error at Idle and the AFRs will not be correctly represented.

You'll need a wideband setup to monitor your AFR's as they will all need adjusting following the switch.

yeah im running a wide band and knock detection from when i previously tuned it

i have read the manual top to bottom numerous times, but not sure how i work out the correct maf scale when running mafless?
here is the most relevent section from the manual:

For MAFless operation, the MAF sensor scale is used to rescale the pressure output
to produce a surrogate engine load figure. The engine load figure should be
rescaled to ensure the range of values used is consistent with internal ECU units.

as an example, in maf based load, on idle in the fuel map, load sits at load site 5, switch to mafless and at idle the load is at load site 17/18,

now, should i be playing with maf scale to get the load outputs to simular values, or should i simply be re-scaling the load axis on the maps, starting with say load site 16 instead of the current 5?
Thanks
Sean

Can you not datalog the maf load the that corresponds with the correct manifold pressure at that moment?
You should of ran speed density to start with....

On mine the maf sensor scale has been changed also load limit is less and load numbers on tables has been increased
Afr target of boost not near what tables show
What is ur load at 1bar with maff

from the last ESL log I looked at around 1 bar I'd expect 43ish engine load.

I take it the manifold absolute pressure load scale is in kpa?

i think it's in bar but you don't see it directly just the multiplier/offset figure.

Bar/kpa same difference. So you can't see what boost your at on the fuel map at any one time?
For instance "fuel load 30" is 30kpa, or -.7 bar, whatever your most comfortable with. Directly related to manifold pressure.

no not as cool as that in ESL, it still uses a load value that is determined from the MAP sensor reading munched with a few values. To adjust for a new MAP sensor later on then you have to adjust the MAP scaler it's just one value.

because of that and the lack of VE table you have to monkey the fuel targets in RAW format to try and get them reading back to what the wideband confirms as you can't trust the fuel targets alone anymore.

but if your adjusting live values with the aid of the wideband sensor it shouldn't take you too long to get a decent fuel table again
