Default Engine rebuild

Hey people, the time has come were I want more power, which with the 2.5 means forging ect, I was wondering were would be best to take it? I've used revolution (in Gateshead local to me) for any work I can't do and they're great never had any issues with them but their labour isn't the cheapest, and with such a big job I thought it be best to get some other quotes. So if you could recommend some places even better if you've used them for major work!

I have a 07 hawk 2.5
Thanks in advance Chris P.S I don't mind traveling

gonna get a wall of responces with differing opinions.

Best advice is dont expect it to be cheap, cheap build normaly means problems. If your happy with rev the use them. Persoanly i wouldn't go anywhere other than scoobyclinic, but as above its a very personal thing

Yeah I gather that and I know it's not going to be cheap but figured that the more options I have the better, have you used scooby clinic and for what? I have heard of them and all good

Thanks again, Chris

I had my 2.5 forged by enginetuner in Plymouth.. I would highly recommend them.. Although they are opposite end of the country for you!! You'll also have to factor in travelling cost to drop off/pick up the car.. Be it train or mates lift etc.. Get as much done internally to the engine as you can afford at the time.. Even if this means sacrificing something else external (turbo FMIC etc) that can be done at a later date.. I wish I had my block closed and machined for 14mm studs.. That's my only regret.. To date..!!

IMHO I would do at the very least..

Pistons.
Rods.
Closed block.
Machined for 14mm studs.
Modified oil pick up.
Uprated oil pump.
Uprated head gaskets.
Clutch.

I'm sure I've missed something...!!

Your looking at around a minimum of 4500£. But more likely 6 grand.

Obvioulsy doing the above work will increase value but not by much..

Good luck!

ASperformance in birtley is where you need to be, alyn is doing a hell of a lot of 2.5 and 6 cylinder closed deck conversions and builds a **** load of time attack and sprint engines.

Or theres wms racing who posts on here, he also does the closed deck conversions and i believe he will do an exchange with your engine.

Both have very attractive pricing and good reputations

Im jealous 200lbft at 2850 and nearly 400lb ft at 3500 obviously my 2.0 is no substitute for 2.5 cubic capacity What's low boost then ?, just to make me curl my mouth.

Hey man,
What route did you take? Did they forge your original engine or did you buy a new block?
