A little confused had my version 5 sti import on a s reg rebuilt and thinking of getting it mapped. Been told by api that its need a alcatek which will cost in total £1000+ but also been told by scoobyclinic the standard ecu can be mapped by themselves for £660?

I believe yours is too early for a ecutek map on the original ecu, it would need aftermarket board.

We couldn't map my mates type R same year on ecutek either.

Had my V reg V5 STI Import done on Ecutek by Simon Roe, Did a A1 job, was also a bit cheaper than that if i remeber correctly.

Was on the standard ECU , Not sure if ECU's are different between s & v reg's

V1-4 can have oe ecu esl'd and the v5/6 will be able to be mapped by esl software in due course. V5/6 can have ecutek afaik, as stated above.
