06 STi, peaks at 1.1 bar but running standard map?
According to the Odbii port the car peaks at 1.1 bar and holds at 1, today I've downloaded the map and compared it to a standard one and they are both the same. Correct me if I'm wrong but standard the car boosts to 1 bar?
Could it be that the obdii is not reading 100% true or maybe a manual boost controller?
The car has a catback, panel filter, cosworth gaskets, rcm low temp thermostat arp head studs, exedy sports clutch, and a pressure test that said it was all okay so that seems a little reserved to boost or just a safe amount of boost to push?

The car was advertised as mapped but there's no proof of it or receipts etc. so I'm going to guess it's standard, I'm just intrigued as to why a boost gauge reads otherwise unless it's calculating it wrong!

Sounds like a std car that had a bit of work done after a headgasket failure but still running std map
edit: only other possibility i can think is that it has racerom fitted with dual maps. Handy tested though, with ignition on put accelerator to the floor and then double tap the rear heater switch. If the engine light on dash then flashes repeatidily for a few seconds then its switched maps

I'll do some logs later on and see if I can get anything meaningful from them.

Hi
A pressure test or (leak test) tells you how well the cylinder is sealing and can give an indication of how good or bad parts are but its no guarantee.
Also iirc with the boost pressure ( i could be wrong so hopefully one of the specialist can confirm) as you have a better flowing filter and exhaust it can give you a slightly better peak pressure from turbo and will maybe show as a boost error - within a certain percentage this is no problem and not something you need to worry about - if you use learning view in romraider it should give you an indication if the ecu is adjusting any timing or fuel for this extra boost.

I'm still intrigued and concerned as to why my boost gauge says 1.1 bar on a standard map.. I think that fitting an actual boost gauge/oil temp/oil press pod is next on my to do list followed by an uprated pick up pipe. Just dreading it going bang. Joys of 2.5!
