Hi All.

I have a Subaru Forester 1999 S Turbo Uk Spec.

I went and got me a Vag-Com KKL 409.1 Cable installed drivers Windows XP set to port 3, Installed and loaded Free SSM went to preferences set to Port 3 test connection " Connection successful ". Then closed Preferences and click the Engine Tab waiting few seconds " No or Incorrect response from ECU ", does anyone have any idea why?

I think your cars connector socket would be fine.
As long as your VAGcom cable in running as virtual COM port (and is a good cable) it should work, mine does.
