I've had an elm327 Bluetooth obd2 both on my focus and my wrx wagon. I've found that if you don't pull the obd2 connector out when not running it will drain the battery flat.

How ever it was a cheap find on eBay so what would you expect.

In the next breath I'm running dash command app on my iphone and the app is fantastic for sensor readings but I do think some parameters are optimistic

cool. yeh i ordered the same one. seems to work fine and so far no flat battery... hadnt even though abut that. haha. all the LED's go off when not running so fingers crossed. had it linked up to "Torque OBD check " for android on my nexus 7 tablet . pretty cool seeing all the temps and stuff. not sure how accurate the boost gauge and such are. but a fun thing to have

I initially baught it for a diagnosis, I had a snap on ethos scan tool that cost best part of 2k a few years ago. And a couple of quid on the App Store and eBay does the same trick.

The dash command seems to read right in regards to boost. Mines on std form n reads up to .9 bar which I think it is what is meant to be.

Have you had your nexus fitted to the car or just mounted. Looking for similar set up with an iPad

at the moment its just on a vent mount. about to buy an android double din stereo with Bluetooth i should be able to have the app on the stereo and link it straight up

saves me the hassle and cost of boost valves and such .

EDIT : just been looking on the net and like the look of the few nexus 7 installs i have seen. easiest way to do it seems to be to wire up a small amp and literally just run a jack lead from the tablet to that... could be easy.. if the tablet fits into the Din slot.

( couldnt put foot down hard on driveway as parent/neighbors would go mad :P )

what should my max/min value's be on the boost gauge for my wagon ?

intake is a bit warm as the cars been sat after a long drive. haha

Looks tidy

I'm thinking of a similar path don't want dash mounted pods and gauges want it too look OEM as possible

I think in std form they run from -0.5 to 0.9 bar don't hold me to that and I'm sure someone will correct me.

What head unit are you looking at?

just been looking at unbranded ebay ones. a mate has a £220 one and it works pretty well.

having had a good look online it seems a few people have just got a cheapish stereo mounted behing the tablet or in the glove box, then just feed a jack/aux input to that. saves messing about with small amps etc. not sure if theres enough room for a stereo behind there or not. all looks pretty simple though. may have a go next week

edit: jsut had a quick look how easy my nexus will fit in the standard space... think it will be pretty easy... a little amp/headunit will fit behind it too.

nice install here :

That's pretty much the look I'm going for.

Wouldn't have the foggiest about amps and speakers that's not my thing

Looking for a functional yet different install.
There's a lot of head units out that will do the same but are pretty pricey in comparison but do even at 6/700 notes look cheap n tacky IMO
