select monitor key/ecu programing 1997 in leicester
can any one help i have a 1997 impreza turbo runnig a 8s ecu i have sp prodrive one i need the key programing to it but main dealer cant help me they do not have a select monitor for it because it is pre obd port wtf
....im in leicester can any one help im all googled out there must be someone in leicester with one

I often wondered if I could use a SP ECU in my 97 model too but opted for ESL instead. Might be the case that you'll have to bypass the immobiliser to use it.

As far as I know the key transponder is not an integral part of the ECU, it's located below the steering wheel. I'm fairly sure you could bypass it with wiring diagrams. I haven't looked at it myself but did wonder about it before going to ESL.
With regard to people driving off with other peoples Imprezas, it happens every day even with expensive aftermarket alarm systems added.
