Default Help From Mappers - External Wastegate

Hi All,

Just a quick question...

With regards to a external wastegate, Is there a setting on the ECU that needs to be changed between external and internal wastegate...?

Basically my car is setup for a VF35 & Internal wastegate... I have now changed to a T518Z & External wastegate (Internal welded shut)... I can hear a blowing noise and slight gasses coming fromt he screamer pipe, I wondered if this was to do with wastegate duty etc holding it open ever so slightly... Car is in for a map Friday so if that will fix it then lovely jubbly! If not I need to work out why its doing what it is?

I remember from my last map the mapper saying "Wastegate duty was at 55" if that helps?

Cheers!
Sam

I believe the plumbing of the boost solenoid is also slightly different.

I have a Apexi AVCR, and that has 2 distinct plumbing diagrams, one with a internal WG, and another with an external WG.

The ECU only "sees" the boost solenoid, so as long as that is plumbed in correctly it can be mapped to suit.
