Clutch pedal heavy, can it be reduced?
Hey all,
This is one of those "I kinda know its possible, but has anyone done it" type of things. I'm going down the route of a very high pressure plate clutch (54% increase = mid to heavy, mainly heavy pedal as a result) due to torque reasons and since we have hydraulic systems, can the setup be changes so its reduced effort on pedal by doing work on the plumbing? Anyone altered their hydraulic setup to aid heavy pressure plates?

If you use a "proper" workshop they could alter the pivot point on the clutch pedal, to reduce the effort required.
Back in the 80's I smashed my left ankle up, so did this mod so I could still drive, even though I was in agony for a year....

P.S. My Hyper single is as light as the OEM clutch was, don't equate clamping force with pedal effort directly, as the actual clutch should be designed properly IMHO

Thanks Dunx, yeh that was what I was kinda thinking, sounds custom though, no std kits about.
I've been told by supplier my clutch will be med to heavy on pedal feel...hence thinking above.
How much does your hyper single hold in torque and does it allow slip instead of shock engagements to gearbox/spline?

Initially it was tres fierce....but after a thousand miles it's easy peasy, there is some "shock", and "judder" CAN be induced, luckily I don't live on a big hill ! ! !

P.S. Never got a proper answer to that one.... torque ? Slip is NOT advised !

Cheers dunx, I'm still in two minds to for 6 puk with spring and less clamp force or very uprated organic type (allows slip) with extreme clamp force...not sure which is better inc some launches, be hard without slip as my engine dont like it much below 2,000 due to cams. Something to ponder, prob get it wrong (as did with existing clutch)
