Take it easy for at least the first half a dozen laps and stay out of the gravel.

There are usually apex & turn in cones out which are helpful , use your mirrors a lot if there are caterfields/radicals out with you.

Oh Yes! I can still vividly remember the first time I tried to take Paddock at speed, years ago in an RS1600i, and then spinning all the way down the hill, it had concrete run off back then, so did not visit the gravel!

Ive found that after coming out of druids and youre giving it some stick into graham hill bend knowing that theres lots of runoff that it can be easy to have too much confidence and run wide as you come onto clearways and get your offside wheels on the grass.
Mind you,it has been a few years since ive done brands, and iirc graham hill bend has been reprofiled a bit since then,so my above comment may not apply-just thought that its worth mentioning.

Gary.

Me too , but after the first few times it becomes fun and you start going faster and faster round that bend

Agree with everyone else and take it easy and go at your own pace

Slow early for the first corner, as you see people end up in the gravel very easily.

Your NSF tyre will take a lot of wear at Brands (All but one right hander). If they are low in tread, take a jack and be prepared to swap front and rear over during the session.

Use the kerbs as datum points for turning in, but try to stay just off them to save on tyre/bearing wear.

Brake in a straight line before turning in/accellerating out. Never with the steering wheel turned.

Slow down every other lap on the straigh to cool the car/brakes.

Normal rules on out lap and in laps (One lap slowish) and do not hold your foot on the brakes, or put the handbrake on when you first reenter the pits.

Also get there early and bag a pit garage so you are not crawling over the floor outside.

Don't feel pressured...

Probably a bit late now, however, fight the urge to lift off half way around Paddock Hill.

Lift Off = Lighter car = round and round we go! I've seen and been in so many races where drivers lift off going down PH then end up going sideways into the gravel which usually results in ending up on the roof!

If you get into diffculty and feel you are going to loose control, drive forwards into the gravel!

thanks for the replies guys,

had the track day on the 30th may, and it was amazing....it really opened my eyes up to what the car can do!!!

the ferodo ds2500 pads were worth every penny spent on them and the tyres were great!!(michi pliot sports)

me andmy uncle swapped cars half way throught the session, so getting my hand on evo 8340mr was yet another massive eye opener.

i found the evo dosen't give much way, it feels so strong and firm on the road where i feelyou can have a litle more fun in mine....

the power was brillian tho, it just puls like a train, i can't wait to get my re-map now and get closer to 300bhp

there was a tvr club there too and i lost count of the compliments i got from people bout the sound and look of the car

when i was changing down from 4th to 3rd the sound of the exhaust was just omething else, i could feel every inch of the exhaust.

next up is hopefully get myelf over to northweald airfield and then fit another track day in somewhere later his year.
