OIL

What oil would be in my STI, it was just serviced at T&C.

Just got offered some mobil SHC FORMULA LD 0W-30, would this be what they would have used? Is it okay to use?

Most people (in my opinion and a few years on this board) would say fully synthetic 5w-40. As soon as you start talking brands though this thread will degrade when Mr Lewis arrives.

That oil is VW/Audi specific for long life use in gasoline and diesel engines with extended life service indicators. Unlikely that a garage would have put it in a scoob. Also it is an expensive oil.

You could make a good profit by selling it to very new VW owners, apparantly the stealers charge about £11/litre for the VW supplied oil. Then use the money to get yourself some nice Motul or Silkolene.
