5th gear jump/pop out
Only done it a couple of times, and can't seem to replicate what ever caused it, but was just wondering wear to start.
Looking on net could be a loose nut in box on main shaft, but was wondering if anything else could cause same problem before pulling box to bits.
Anyone had this problem how much cost to resolve it

All done. 1st and 5th synchro were knackered and replaced. The shaft nut was loose as expected. What I didn't expect was a £750 bill though - and that's cash for no VAT.

I've read a few of API's posts, don't think once I'd put on the cost of a tow to API there would have been much in it.
And the fact that the box was out and stripped at Extreme Scoobies before I knew exactly what the problem was.

Happened to my MY00 Turbo 2000 back in 2003 kept popping out of 5th gear on motorways, thought it was just a nut that needed tightning in the box, But on inspection it had stripped the gears, needed a rebuild at a cost of £1800(bearing in mind it was 2003) car was only 3 years old!!!
