What's the best oil?
#2
Yup Motul 300v is one of the best ones.
Is it worth the cost? Well what better, expensive oil and a reliable engine, or cheap oil and an engine rebuild down the line.
I don't mean to sound so anti, but i have had two engines rebuilt cuz of piston slap and this one is running motul 300v and has been the most reliable and quietest one yet
Choice is yours m8

I agree - I'd rather buy decent oil than end up with a knackered engine.
However, I seem to remember a thread a while ago that recomended other oils, none of which were 15W/50. Any other recomendations.
Btw - anyone know what these oil specs mean? What is the diference between 15W/50 and 0W/50 for example?

Mark,
Mobil 1 15w50 seems to be a popular oil as well (not the 0w40 as this is wat too thin for the scooby engine), but the base products are not to the standard of Motul's.
The main thing really is to make sure it's fully synthetic as is of the 10w50 or 15w50 variety.
