Default Lightened flywheel

Hi all, I'm replacing the clutch in my type r impreza with a stage 1 exedy. I was just going to get the flywheel skimmed but thought about a lightened flywheel. Would this be worth while doing, car is standard at the moment.

Cheers in advance rab

Yeah it will make the engine rev more freely and transfer a few more ponys to the wheels.

Hi Rab, I got my flywheel lightened when i rebuilt my engine, but the engineering shop that did said the flywheels on impreza's were pretty much as light as they can be, he did take a small skim of it, but said it was hardly worth it.

really. i thought the standard one was 11kg ish and my lightened one is 6kg.
it makes the car rev more freely.
a worthy mod i think

More free reving engine, no extra power; OE is 11.4kg for a classic...most lighteneed are between 4.6 and 6kg. A nice mod although you will stall the first time you try to pull away with it

Yeah worthwhile and if you don't do it you will only regret it afterwards
