Newage race car wheel bearing problems
I bought a set of Legacy front hubs as i was told they'd be a good upgrade for my 2002WRX front hubs on my race car. When i got them stripped down I realised the bearing (although in its own housing like the late STI) was smaller than my 2002 newage WRX bearing and to add insult to injury its was ball races and not even rollers!
So now with my track day at Oulton looming on the 4th of next month it looks like I'm gonna have to fit yet another WRX bearing in my hub.
I'm still trying to get my head round which bearings go in what so any more clarification would really help me.
I understand now that if I go 2005 onwards I'll be spending £600 to get STI shafts and hubs that I'll have to re-drill and tap the wheel stud holes and mill on the sides to fit my strut but can anyone tell me if the the newage STI hub up to 2005 would be a good upgrade for me?
I've done some searching and it looks like they did have a bigger "press in type bearings. What PCD would these be and would they go on with my WRX shafts?
Cheers Martin
