OK Gents,

I’ve ordered my boost gauge from PE and it should come in a few days. The problem is I don’t have a clue how to fit it! Where does the pipe connect to? Does anybody have any pics of one set up? (MY97 UK)

Once I’ve done this, I’m going to get some base readings for the car in 4th and 5th, then fit my Dawes device (got plenty of instructions for this). I plan to set the device to a maximum of 15psi and as I understand from the following thread

http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=90011&Page=1

it would appear that a standard UK97 has a rich enough mixture to take 17.5 – 19 psi. Can anybody out there confirm this or am I talking through my ****!?

FYI:
I’ve got a
blitz induction kit
Magnex decat centre
Magnex Back Box

Does anybody know what BHP this will produce (at a guess)?

Cheers,

Rob

You will be limited by fuel cut with the Dawes and the fuelling should be OK on a UK car.

hi rob,

I had my uk my98 (s reg.) rr'ed not so long ago at well lane (which was by far the hottest day of the year at that point, dam Murphy and his Law!

I got 258 BHP at 6100 RPM and 242 lbft at 4700 RPM.
B4 the dawes (every thing else the same, I got 253 BHP and 222 lbft. But it was in the midsts of winter so quite cold.

With the dawes i did produce more power, and earlier just about all the way through the rev range.

Mods:
K&N 57i
Magnex BB
SS CS
Dawes at 1.05 bar (15 psi?) My fueling was nice and rich.
optimax

As for the Boost Gauge fitting, there is a spare nipple on the engine which can be used. Someone has a home page with very good instructions which I used my self. I'v had a quick look for you, but Im not on the comp. were most of my favorites are saved and I cant find the link. Im sure someone will know and post though.
