Question

Hi
Are the STI7 and WRX exhausts interchangeable?
Thanks!

I think the whole system is, but the intermediate pipe lengths may differ (i.e. downpipe longer in the STi?)

The back box flange is the same, though.

It physically fits, but the STi diff is about 15mm wider across the casing so you will probably find that the pipe bend hits the diff - mine did - VERY annoying. Cannot speak for others, but the ScoobySport centre/backbox has been modified for a specific STi7 fit version.

The UK STi and WRX downpipes are physically the same mounting wise (the STi has a bigger cat), but the Jap WRX/STi uses a 3 piece exhaust system, the Euro uses a four - this equates to a much shorter downpipe in the Euro cars meaning a link pipe is necessary.

Dave, when I bought the scooby sport system I did not specify it for an sti and it did not hit the diff. Thanks to boost spikes the system is now off waiting for the ppp. It all depends now on what parts the ppp replace but would you consider putting your scoobysport system back on with the ppp?

Having swopped the ScoobySport system from one of our STi's to the other, it seems it depends what mix of OEM/SS exhaust sections you have on MAY result in it being close to the diff housing, or not.

Mine touched, with a SS system from the d/p back. Carolyn's didn't, with the exact same system but with the SS d/p as well.

As I say, I know SS and H&S have played around with the system for the STi to get better diff clearance - Carolyn's was the first.

Re the PPP, I might be tempted to see what other exhaust bits work with it - got to get the PPP first though
