Justin - cannot give you any technical details but I get this too and the SIDC site says that its quite normal (on a cold engine).

I've got a MY99 wagon with 24K on the clock. I know a few 'Sccobs' have had problems with juder between the MY97 and MY99 models.

Mine too has a juder in the early mornings ... quite a bit if you don't give it enough right foot action and bring the clutch to biting point to quickly.

After about 3 miles it almost gone, and once the engine is fully warm it's gone all together.

I can sometimes get it to juder (when the engines warm) if I don't give it enough right foot action and bring the clutch to biting point slowly.

It never juder's at any other point, especially when being driven hard with fast gear changes.

I once heard that the Impreza clucth is coated in a material that works best when warm. This material is able to take the 'bashing' that most of us give the clucth every now and again ;-)

Hope that helps.

J.

MY02 WRX wagon - very slight (barely noticable) clutch judder when cold, for a couple of mins. Then it's fine for the rest of the day. I guess I'm just being ****.....

Even P1's are susceptible to this - I experience it when engine is cold
