Hi and I am sure its been mentioned many times before. But I will soon be collecting my new engined Scooby soon, however, its is still on its original T25 clutch with about 20,000 miles use.
The engine should be making about 500+H.P , and about the same torque.
I therefore have a question, What clutch would be best suited for this power. I am sure that the standard items would not beable to take such torque and power?
I have had a reply from a mapper and he agrees with my thoughts , so I am seeing what other members thoughts are ?
It also seems a bit odd if the engine is out not to change the clutch so saving costs on extra labour later on/

I would consider an Exedy twin, you know then it will be upto whatever you can throw at it

When the clutch gives way I will take a look at the suggested clutch.
Do you find it ok for road use? I only use the car for road use so would not enjoy a track based unit.?

We have fitted these to mainly road cars as it gives about the best manners from a twin plate.

Will take a little getting used to but it is far nicer to drive than a paddle

Hi Paul, I've just fitted an Apex twin plate and I have covered a hundred miles in it and to be honest I've been so close to taking it out several times due to the noise. I was only keeping it in as I'm told it will get quieter but then when using it on the move and the feeling of the clutch is now swaying me to keep it.
Pulling off and reversing is getting easier once you get the hang of it.
This clutch cost a third less than the exedy and seeing it cope in Dynamix time attack car shows its more than capable of.handling our power targets.

Looks like the Exedy clutch is the way to go .
Will have to see how long mine lasts with the power and Torque.
Once it packs up I will then uprgade .
