Uk 2000 vs Sti box
Due to upgrading my ecu and hopefully having 300+bhp/torque in the near future im not expecting my00 Uk classic box to last forever. So just wondered if the Sti classic boxes were any stronger than the Uk? I know theres the Sti8 6 speed conversion and uprated gearsets for my box but I'm trying to think under the £2k mark, preferably sub £500!!

You'll be lucky to get a good box for under £500. My experience with Scoobyclinic is that the 5 speed is lighter than a STI 6 speed, but you will need a strong gearbox whatevery you decide. £2k for a box is reasonable, though you have to get it fitted too, so add that cost on and you'll probably need a nice shiny clutch to go with it as well. £3k+
Im saving like scrooge for a helical gear upgrade for my 5speed, plus clutch plus labour and VAT, talking 4k to get it done by scoob specialist (scoobyclinic) but its peace of mind.
As the saying goes, pay half the cost now to go cheaper, spend twice as much fixing it.
