poss gearbox problem
when reversing out of my drive i have the car on nearly full lock, there is a clunking noise coming from the front of the car, (wheel/driveshaft area), at first i thought it was maybe a drive shaft CV joint that had gone, but i checked them and they seem ok, i jacked the front up and when spining the front wheel there is a bit of free spin before the gearbox engages (in neutral)...is this normal? also the gearbox was very hot to touch on the bottom after a 5 mile run (at high speed), the oil level is fine and the oil is new.
any ideas are welcome
