Default knocking help

hi ive seemed to develop some sort of knock as im driving at low speed is when i can hear it most is seem to get faster as the speed goes up
sounds like a drive shaft or similar

as i touch the brakes even very gently it stops completly

i cant see anything wrong with the prop or driveshafts i pulled all the brakes off and cleaned it all up and put back on it seemed to have stopped for a while but has now came back

the car is a turbo 2000 classic on a 200 plate but with the running gear from a 2005 wrx including driveshafts and gearbox and engine

Has anyone got any ideas as it getting very anoying?

Sounds like the pads are slightly loose in the calipers. Try moving them by hand and see.

They do move side to side in the caliper abit but what would cause it to be Loose the calipers were rebuilt with new pistons last summer and new discs and pads at same time

Try removing the pads then reassembling them with copper grease on the rear of the pad, ie the part that comes into contact with the caliper.

Warped discs? it would cause the pad to be pushed back to the caliper in extreme cases and let the pad move until you touched the brakes again to remove the slack?

Jack the front up and spin the wheels, if it suddenly stops in one position it can show if your disc is warped.

doesnt seem to be a wheel bearing as i spoke to godspeed and they sugested changing the pads and retaining clips over to the other side and see if that helps and it stopped it for a while but now after about 500 miles its there but very faint
