Why does boost go up with Octanebooster?

Isn't it something to do with the higher the octane the cooler the engine runs so the higher boost it can run without detting.
Could be, but then again I work in IT so can't be trusted to know what I'm taking about.

True Dave, but on the Subaru it only reduces boost only if det cannot be corrected from retarding the ignition = rarely AFAIK.
Perhaps greater ignition advance results in the turbo spooling up quicker?
