Thumbs up

(D'oh I man 9 not 6!)

Had the Tek 2 put onto my car today at PE.

Once the small matter of a sh*gged MAF sensor was taken care of (ouch!) I started the day with 258bhp and 229lb/ft.

I ended the day with 267bhp and 252lb/ft.

So not a great increase in bhp I hear you say! However, what the peak power doesn't reflect is what happens on the way which is the very interesting bit.

Below is a photo of the graph, which I hope will be legible, as you can see both power and torque outstrip the earlier run right from the outset and in the mid range 3500rpm - 5500rpm, the power is at least 20bhp more - hitting 30bhp at a couple of points and the torque is almost exactly the same - between 20lb/ft and 30 lb/ft - nice!

I haven't had much chance to run it since I got back today, but on the motorway, overtaking was a million miles better, much keener and better pick up. And the short cross country thrash was also much better, the car is absolutely flying now in gears.

Hopefully, the Optimax and NF will also add a bit, and the ECU will start advancing , like the old one was doing.

One final point, I can just about remember what the car was like originally - all whizz bang, but now it just picks up soooo smoothly and just does not want to stop revving.

I can safely say that if you are debating what to do next to your car, and it's a 99, get it done, I fail to see how you would be anything other than ecstatic with the results.

Many thanks to all at EcuTek for the amazing job done

Graph.........

and a chance for you all to see a pic of the sticker, some outside evidence that it is one there, as hopefully I shall be going to fast for you to see it otherwise;D......

Question

Matt what was the spec of your car before TEK2 please?

I'd also like to know what discs you have under those std calipers, are they seperate disc and bells?

F
PS nice plot and a good result! Can I have a ride some time?

Russell - K&N 57i induction kit.

Floyd, car spec performance wise is K&N as I mentioned above and a full de-cat Scoobysport system. With lashings of Optimax and octane booster aswell.

As far as the discs go, they are Godspeed 335mm, and yes it is a seperate disc and bell - well spotted I'm sure I could manage to show you it one day.
