Torque steer?

Torque steer?
Has any one ever had this problem.
Giving a pull in 3rd and felt a slight jolt and then a screech,at which point the car started to torque steer very badly and rev's started to climb a bit quicker than acceleration almost like a slipping clutch at the same time as torque steer starts to happen.
I'm thinking front diff?
Normal driving has no noises and selects gears fine.
