With the help of you guy's, I finally worked out that I had a leaking dump valve (MY97), as I seemed to have lost boost and I had the "bottle top noise". But just been for a spin and it seems OK today. Boost is back, can this sort of leak intermittent.

Maybe there was a bit of muck stopping your BOV from working properly and its just worked itself out of the way. Just an idea.

Try taking it off and having a look.
