Default Whirring clutch

On my uk 1997 uk turbo, when my clutch pedal is up I can hear the clutch whirring round, when I put my foot on the pedal and push it in the noise goes away, is this normal?

As far as I know it's the standard clutch and on 134,00 miles.

I do have a brand new exedy clutch if needed.

Sounds like it could be the release bearing mate.

Will it get worse, or just be noisy?

Thanks
