Default Drive shaft differences

Are front and rear driveshafts the same? ie their length and fitment. Asking cause I have bought and fitted a (front) or so I was told shaft on the front o/s and now my o/s wheel is in further than the n/s one

Nope front and rear shafts are different. What gearbox do you have fitted, 5 or 6 speed as rear shafts have male ends either end so could not be fitted to a 5 speed box. If you have a 6 speed are you using shafts with male inner ends or shafts with female inner and using stub axles on the box? More info required on box fitted year of car etc etc
