Puzzled. People are talking about Tek 1 including a 1 AFR point lean out up top. I thought this was Tek 2.
If an AE800 map can be applied to my MY00 ECU with a 1 point lean up top for £150 it sounds very good VFM, but as I understood it it was just an unaltered AE800 map?

When I spoke to Dave Power about the TEK1 I'm sure he said it was a slightly modified AE800/801 map.
What that slight modification was though I don't know.

I'm pretty sure that the Tek1 is leaned out a bit higher up & also a bit richer at the bottom end where the turbo comes in (a lean spot) than the standard AE801.
The Tek2 also increases the boost level, and doubtless other fiddles as well...
I think I've seriously over-simplified here, but that's the general gist as far as I can tell

Last thing I heard, the Tek2 can still only be done with the car at PE - they haven't run enough cars through yet to make sure that the map is OK for all.
But that may have changed...

Currently I think the main difference between them is that the Tek2 has the boost target and fuel cut lifted by about 2PSI with the boost mapped to build earlier than stock.

Scotsman,
I went from 236bhp/227lbft with the AE802 to 263bhp/255lbft with the Tek2. The first figures were on a cold day the second on a warm one so the difference is probably slightly larger. Also, they increase the fuelling lower down the rev range which cured a hesitation problem I was having since I fitted my induction kit. It's expensive compared with the Tek1 but not compared with Link, Motec, etc...£1,500+ !
