Is this overboost?

Guys (and gals just in case! 
)
On my way home tonight in fourth gear and around 4k the car seemed to stop accelerating and then go again, then a pause of about two seconds then the same stop and go again. Same thing happens in fifth as well. Anyone know what it is? Car is an MY98 turbo.

Could well be. MY98 does it quite commonly. You need a boost gauge. Could be oil in the restrictor(s) or the solenoid which can be cleaned out. Have you decatted the exhaust?

The car is standard, only wish I could've afforded the insurance for a full decat!!
I'll check the oil in the morning to make sure there's not too much in there. Maybe the cool evening air had something to do with it?
