Question

Considering my options on exhaust systems.

Anybody have any experiences of fully de-cat Mongoose?

Any good (loud/power gains/quality)?

I've got a full mongoose system inc d/p on my 97 scooby which I
would recommend it to anyone. Noise levels are meaty in town but on the motorway it's pretty quiet for an aftermarket system.
Loads more torque from 3k rpm all the way to 7k rpm.

System I am considering is a single dump D/P, resonator in centre section, and 4" tailpipe.

Does the fact that its a single dump with resonator make it more restrictive than other systems?

Hi bob have you seen this http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/thread.asp?threadid=81649
It looks quit cheap I was considering it myself evan though I already have a center + back box (different make), because it was sooo cheap. I had been told they were very good, but could not afford one when needed (wanted) my current system.

Thumbs up

Bob. I have the full mongoose system on my Legacy Turbo, very happy with it. Not too noisy, but gives that lovely Flat four burble ;D

I have fitted a few Mongoose exhausts. Quality is Ok, but I HATE the slide fit type joints they make it with. They are a hassle if it needs to come apart again. Scorpion arent that great either. Magnex is much better quality, and the Scoobysport front pipe is excellent too. HKS are overpriced, Blitz are excellent too, but still a little pricey.
However, mongoose do make full systems for most models, so you dont always have the choice ( eg legacy models ) The imprezza systems can be made to fit, but its can be a bit of work
Most systems are gonna sound good, its just a great engine...

Thanx for the input guys,

I have bought the system from Kam in the For Sale section (bargain at £260).

I am having it fitted tommorow so I'll let you know how I get on. I just hope that it has a better fit on an Impreza than a legacy I saw today with same system.

Fitted the Mongoose system today. Fitted on a treat. I haven't really heard any other scoob exhausts but this one is nice and meaty and has improved the torque massively - noise may take some getting used to so am glad i didn't buy a scoobysport exhaust as i've heard they're much louder - how do you peeps put up with it?

I can't believe i left this mod so long to do!

Happy Chappy!
