Transmission Gearbox Whine

Transmission Gearbox Whine
I had a sports cat and exhaust system fitted a couple of days ago, and since then there is a massive whine coming from what sounds like the gearbox mainly when accelerating in 1st and 2nd.
The previous exhaust system, comprising of a standard cat downpipe and a straight through exhaust was pretty loud, but im sure i would of heard this whine before now as its very audible. The box has always had a slightly whine on over run, but thats quite normal on subarus. It only happened since the new system was fitted...it deffinately isnt the new downpipe whining, its a more gear/bearing/mechanical noise
Ive had it up on the ramps and checked the new system is fouling on anything, which it isnt...so im a bit confuddled about what it could be..
The cars a standard V4 Type R but with Group N transmission and engine mounts.
Any help would be much appreciated!

If the only thing you;ve had changed is the exhaust then chances are its just new exhaust noise along with gearbox "normal" noise that makes it noticed. Mine used to drone like mad on motorway until had mid section pipe fitted, never looked back since.
