i went to check my transmition fluid on the scoob today to find it was bone dry.
started filling it up, put 1 litre in and only a small notch on the dipstick, went got some more started filling it up again and could smell oil really strong,
looked underneath and as fast as i was pooring it in, it was pissing out underneath,
Can any one help, got any ideas what it could be???
worst time to happen as i go on holiday next thurs.

Worst case it could be a cracked casing, but it could just be a driveshaft oil seal. Can you identify where it is coming from. Not sure about the propshaft, but if it is a driveshaft it's about an hours work and a £5 seal.

as said is it leaking from the sides of the box near a d/s or from the rear where the prob slides in there all just "slid" on an the d/s then have a roll pin securing them easy job to sort but a bit of a fiddle, if its a craked case then a new box is gunna cost you around £250 or find a breaker that will "part ex" your old box i done this with awesome imports in avonmouth with mine,
you could always try some chemical metal if you can clean up the split and apply that to it,

hope you get it sort it and you avenge the dark stuff coming out your box lol
