Am I right in thinking that this will give me the 'fluttering' noise as the WRC rally cars do, as opposed to the 'whoosh' that a dump valve gives off???
Also anyone fitted one to a P1 or similar MY99+?? If so, are they a universal fitment, or specific??
Cheers, Pickle

Don't know about the universal fitting although I think it is - or rather there are fitting kits - but it doesn't make the fluttering noise - more a high pitched whistle with a pshhh of air.
The fluttering WRC noise is 'achieved' by having no dumpvalve at all and a higher boost than normal. By doing this, you destroy the turbo (eventually) & pop your engine. So, not too easy to get right, then

I've the HKS SSBOV on my '01 WRX, and no it doesn't make the fluttering noise - although it does on Nito's mod'd MY'98 - big time.. but I believe that is due to him running higher boost through an uprated intercooler and turbo...
The easiest way to get the fluttering noise is to get yourself a mod'd forge recirc d/v and an induction kit... the Forge d/v has to have a stiff spring in it and shims... Trout & TopCat are both using these.
Hope this helps, Alex
