i currently have a 2ltr ej20 engine with a tg04 turbo i think , i have been offered a 2.2ltr engine with uprated turbo that is alot bigger than the one i have now , is the 2.2 lump better than the one i have now or would i be better to just get the larger turbo , i know the 2.2 lump was being used in a car that was used for rallying , can anyone offer some advise plz

If its a closed deck block then yes, very strong engine and can be tuned to some big power, ive seen some scoobs with 600+bhp on a 2.2 etc I think these engines are hard to get a hold of so if the moneys right im sure there will be someone on here that can give you a more technical view on it

 

thanks for the advice , like i said the guy is using it in a rally car and as far as i know it has only covered 75 miles since a full engine rebuild was done on it , fingers crossed its the good engine

 

If the guy was using the engine in a rallycar make sure you get the turbo restrictor removed or it might just limit your power a shade lol
