Question

As far as I can tell from my handbook grade 75/90 oil is recommended for all the trans parts - gearbox, diffs etc. I see from my 2 year service invoice that my dealer used Castrol 75/80 and 80/90 although I don't know what went into where. I am planning on doing most of the 4 year service myself and want to make sure what is the correct (best) grade to use and the quantities to buy. Can anybody please advise? Thanks.

I've just put in Motul Gear 300, in 75/90 weight...and it's specced as a GL-5, all according to the manual (and the gearbox feels alot smoother than with the stock sludge).

The manual has a diagram over suitable weights vs ambient running temps.

And IIRC you must use a GL-5 specced oil.
