hi pete, i've just fitted a 6 speed for now which will probably hurt my 1/4mile times. i was gonna go ppg but didn't like the idea that 5th gear was standard. dave offered me another box with all 5 gears straight cut and uprated but chose 6 speed just incase i put it on the road.

The PPG fast road kit is rated to around 450bhp but a straight cut 1-5 has handled 620bhp on TerryB's time attack car

Who mentioned PPG ??

We use various boxes depending upon customer needs.

The one Dave was interested in is a Japanese " Takata brand " straight cut dog box as used by many of the top Time attack Japanese cars. The gears are huge compared to PPG.

We use it in our own car, soon to be seen in the RACMSA Hill climb championship driven by Ace Racer Rob Harriman.

Look out for an announcement soon on here somewhere.

David APi

PS Thanks for the kind words all above, much appreciated.
