Default UK 2000 clonking noise????

As stated, got a clonking sounds when turning sharp, worse in reverse, I have checked front CV's and they are fine, the sound does appear to be coming from the gearbox? Anyone come across this?

I have a milder form of what you have I think. Suggestions on here were the centre diff. I'm going to have a look at mine in the new year. Sounds expensive. Mine kinda skips on full lock in reverse like you rolled over a big pebble. If mines not too bad I'll be tempted to leave it until it gets really bad.

Hmm actually mine has been doing this for quite a while (2+ yrs). If I get a week off before the summer I'll pull it a part and probably drop in a new clutch too. Car is MY99 with 130,000 miles.
