Loss of drive like a dodgy clutch but happened insantly?
Literally just brought myself a 1996 wrx wagon today, i drove it 168 miles home with no probs. Got back home and took it for a bit of a drive and when i went round a corner it juddered and ever since has driven like the clutch is gone. The thing is i have only ever known clutches to go gradually. Do they ever go instantly on impreza's ? or is it more likely to be something else? The clutch was good when i brought it, i tried to slip it and it just gripped. Its done 109000 miles, i checked all the history and reciepts and i cant find anything to say its ever had a clutch.
Any help will be much aprieciated
Thanks

A clutch tends to go gradually (unless you have been doing something stupid like dumping the clutch at high revs), you would tend to notice it slipping in the higher gears first as "scoobynewbie72" pointed out.
I take it that you still have drive? If not and it happened all of a sudden then it's something more serious than your clutch. (gearbox/diff/propshaft??)
If it's driving like the clutch is slipping and it happened without warning it may be a sticking pedal/cable or the clutch master cylinder.

Thanks for your help but i found what it is, had a look when it happened and couldnt see anything spinning, but left it in gear with the handbrake on today and the front offside driveshaft is snapped neares the box. Whos the best breakers to use i'm in derby. Rang scooby bits from ebay they seem cheap but are in leeds.
