wrx auto box/how much power
hello guys i have a 1995 wrx automatic wagon on my last dyno it was running 242bhp/237ftlbs on the td04. I have just fitted at long last a td05 and this weekend hes off on the rollers again & having a little tweak, does anyone know what kind of power these automatic transmission boxes are happy to handle before they start to feel pushed? thanks ppl.

My car apparently puts out 280-300 bhp through the auto box with a Mocal trans cooler and using Amsoil synthetic ATF although when it was dyno'd, we had problems keeping it on the rollers - two in front, three in back, two in boot...
I know in Australia they use the auto for drag racing but I have never seen any definitive figures on the power it can take.
Thanks
Gavin

i dont know how true this is but in theory it sound logical, the auto boxs are much more robust than the wrx maual box which has a reputation of been madeout of chocolate because when auto changes a gear you get a certain amount of slip through the torque converter which reduces shock & stress on the internals, unlike a manual that gets smashed on the gear change.

all of them...lol......walbro 255 fuel pump(essential!)
de-cat
td05
induction kit
fmic
polar performance ecu chip
Another good mod was to keep the standard re-circ valve, which meant i had to have a alloy noggin tig welded into my ic hard pipe to join to valve onto & a silicon hose into the air intake pipe. As my 92-96 autobahn88 kit didnt come with any type of dv attachment.
