Limited Slip Diff, flashing light in dashboard

Hi all

I have a subaru type-r 1998.

The light for lsd keeps flashing on the bottom selection and if I try and select a different setting, it doesn't move and stays flashing.

Does anyone know why this is?

I'm not sure what other information I need to give other than that... :s

sounds like someone has disconnected the dccd!

As above, its indicating a DCCD problem- and is usually electrical.

Have you have the gearbox out recently? The usual cause is the box being taken out without the person doing it realising it has a loom attached to the top, and the wires pull out.

Ouu... Is this wiring loom easy to get to? It doesn't sound it.

And I've not had a new gearbox or anything, so I'm not sure how this could've happened? Unless it's just over time or something!?

I'd speak to David at API as this is a job for a specialist; taking it to a regular garage, or auto electrician, will undoubtedly cost you a fortune- without resolving the problem.

Thanks guys for your replies and help.

I would love to give you a ring David, but I think Warwickshire is quite far for me (about 80mi) - just because if I had to leave my car I'd be kind of stuck with Work, Lifts, etc! :s I'm not sure how you could help me

Uhmm... Isn't somewhere like Scoobyclinic be any good? I rang them but they weren't very helpful.. except 'bring it down..', which doesn't give me any confidence!!... Argh I'm not sure what to do!
