Hi,

Can the 215 bhp MY 99 cars be affected by piston slap? If the car develops piston slap would it be better to go for a new short block or just replace the offending pistons with the modified versions. The reason I am asking is I dont think the new short blocks are modified so you are likely to develop the problem again later on.

Thanks

Ben

yes they can be affected im seeing my00 legacys with piston slap. as for a new short block you won't get it as i.m fix is to do the pistons. i've always found that it's pistons 2 and 4 although some people have done 3 as well. and yes after a while it does come back.
