Hi John
seeing as you seem to be the man around here could you please answer these questions, if I havent upset you to much that is (or anyone else feel 3) I noticed in the dyno section the same car as mine sti5 type r with mods i.e induction kits exhausts but all seem to be getting far less power than me without any mods could you please explain why. my car 297bhp at 6800rpm at 16psi before anyone says not possible i can tell you I have only had 1 dyno run and that was at Power engineering.
Any thoughts thanks Dan

Sorry only just seen your thread I have seen more than 30 patients this morning and am not off today
I am not an expert on rolling roads. There is an interesting thread in the Scotland forum about rolling roads which may be worth a look - Rolling roads dos and donts or something like that which discusses a lot of the variables involved. There have been others too, wish search was on.
Your result is not particularly surprising at PE, although very respectable. There are so many factors such as tyres, intake temps, fans, loading on the rollers etc etc. Have a read of the above thread and see what you think.

I think what JGM 2 meant was were there ANY other cars RR'd that day not just Scoobs? E.g. a 150bhp car producing 165?
I think the differences could be explained by:
1. Differences in ambient temperature.
2. Variation between different RR's.
3. RR's aren't that accurate anyway.
4. Different fuel/octane boosters.
BTW there is a huge variation in dyno results for the std UK turbo - MY99/00's average out at something like 235, e.g. about 20hp ~10% above manufacturers' figure.
Cheers
Tim
PS I think JB's views on RR's are quite well known
