You don't specify which year & spec car you have so I will assume that you have the "full time" four wheel drive version & that you are talking about the front drive shafts as you say that it happens around corners... Based on this it is more likely to be the outer joint that is knocking, not the inner.

Subaru like to keep things simple, so they tend to have one set of shafts for manual gearbox cars and another for auto's. This usually means, for example, that a 1.6 manual saloon will have the same shafts fitted as manual versions of the 1.8, 2.0 normally asperated & turbo cars. it dosen't even matter if it's a saloon or wagon.

The only catch, is that over the years thay have modifyed the shafts, so you wouldn't be able to fit a 93my shaft into a 2000my car.

If you give me your VIN number then I will let you know which cars would be a suitable donor.

Unfortunately you are in a position of having a unique set of shafts fitted to your car as it is a 2wd version. Your car was built in the 3rd month of 1994 so it's a 94my.

The only cars with compatible shafts are:

Impreza 1.6 2wd manual transmission - 92, 93 & 94my (Saloon or Estate)

Legacy 1.6 - Any Variant - 92 & 93my

Hope you find a second hand shaft, as an inner joint from Subaru is £199.00 & a whole shaft will set you back £476.12.

Just in case the part numbers are of use to you, they are as follows:

Inner Front Joint - 28092AA000

Front Driveshaft Complete - 28021AA481

With regard to posting your Vin no: I wouldn't worry too much mate, In this day and age of internet, it's very easy to find out the ID of cars.
